A guard by instinct, a herding dog by training, the kuvasz is considered by many to be an ideal farm dog.He is gentle with his charges and can be trusted with any farm animals; if brought up for the job, he will even tend chickens and ducks.Before he came to what is now Hungary, the Kuvasz is thought to have been used by the Turkish people to guard their war horses. Today, many people who raise horses have found that the Kuvasz is particularly adept at working with these sensitive creatures |
